Payment Information FAQs

What information is required to process a payment?

The following information is required to make a child support payment:

  • Noncustodial parent's Child Support Participant ID
  • Noncustodial parent's Child Support Case Number
  • Noncustodial parent's first and last name.
  • Noncustodial parent's Middle Initial and Suffix if one exists
  • Noncustodial parent's Date of Birth
  • Valid e-mail address

A valid e-mail address is required in order for us to communicate with you electronically. If you do not have an e-mail address, we cannot send you information such as a confirmation of your transactions. Free e-mail accounts are available on the Internet. To locate one, use any search engine and search for "free e-mail."

Valid mailing address for noncustodial parent. Payments received that exceed the existing balances on a case will be reviewed for a refund to the participant.

How can I obtain my Participant ID?

You should have received a letter from our office providing you the Participant ID. We included a CN OCSS payment business card to retain your Case Number and Participant ID. You may also contact Cherokee Nation Child Support Services at 918-453-5444 for this information.

Can I make a payment if my current employer is issuing payments based on an active an Order for Income Withholding?

Yes, but the income withholding will remain in effect and will not be terminated.

When will my payment be applied to my child support account?

Payments are processed and applied to child support cases within five (5) business days.

Can I make a payment for a noncustodial parent if I am not the client with my credit card?

Yes, Anyone can make a payment through the Payment Portal. You can use any legal credit card to make a payment for a noncustodial parent; however, you will need all the required information for the noncustodial parent to process the payment listed below:

  • Credit card holder's name.
  • Valid phone number
  • Valid email address
  • Credit card holder's billing address
  • MasterCard® Visa® or Discover credit card number and expiration date, and CVS 3-digit security code.

What credit cards do you accept?

You may use your MasterCard® Visa® or Discover to make a child support payment. American Express is not accepted.

What information is required to make a credit card payment?

The following information is required to make a credit card payment:

  • Credit card holder's name.
  • Valid phone number
  • Valid email address
  • Credit card holder's billing address
  • MasterCard® Visa® or Discover credit card number and expiration date, and CVS 3-digit security code.
  • Payment Amount

Is there a minimum credit card payment requirement?

Yes, there is a minimum payment requirement of $5.00.

What is the maximum payment that I can make?

The maximum payment that you can make in one transaction is $9,999.99; assuming that your card has that amount of credit available. Multiple transactions can be made in one day as long as each transaction does not exceed $9,999.99, and the appropriate amount of credit is available.

When will my credit card be charged for my child support payment?

Your credit card is charged at the time you submit the transaction and your credit card company authorizes it.

What is the CVS 3-digit security code and where do I find it?

The CVS 3-digit security code is an added security measure. It is used to establish that you are in possession of the credit card. The code is printed near the signature panel in reverse italics on the back of your card.

My credit card transaction was declined, what should I do?

You will need to contact your credit card company to determine why the payment was not authorized. It could have been declined for one of the following reasons:
• The credit card number and/ or CVS security code was incorrectly entered.
• There is a discrepancy between the address you entered and the billing address that is on file with the cards issuing bank. You must enter the billing address that appears on your credit card statement.
• A foreign address (a country other than the US) was entered. The web site is unable to process credit card payments with a foreign address.
• There is insufficient credit available for the payment amount.

Technical Issue FAQs

It appears there is a problem with identifying the participant through the Payment Portal. What do I need to do to process the payment?
